I will never forget the first time I was called to do a voice over. It was a last minute call and they could not have picked a worse time for me to go on air with a cold! Being the person I am, I didn't want to turn the work down so I went for it!
The recording was made and the company were really pleased with the outcome. My advice to anyone who is going for their first VoiceOver is to go for it, give it as much as you can and be confident in your delivery.
Your voice is one of the most powerful assets you hold. Your voice says a lot about who you are and its learning the technique to be able to showcase your voice in a variety of ways that sit in line with your audience. You tone is important in communicating content. Are you looking to inspire, motivate or educate? Your tone represents 38% of what people listen to when speaking face to face so when there is no body language involved you can imagine how important it is that your message is appropriately received.
