A few years ago, I decided to jump back into my theatre career and get practising my techniques in preparation for auditions to the top drama schools in London.

Despite commencing my acting career at the age of 5, I did everything I could to ensure I had the most practise and feedback before my audition. I took 1-2-1 audition classes, practised my script while sitting at red lights in traffic and locked myself in my room until I was happy I had learnt the script and felt comfortable with role I was playing.

Shakespeare is difficult to achieve, not just because you have ten beats per line and have to take a breathe but because you have to really gain an understanding of the lines that you are reading to be able to act correctly with the words.

I don't normally like sharing practise pieces with the world but I think its important for everyone to know that we all start somewhere with our careers and any other actor knows that when you don't have someone to give you feedback that recording yourself in practise is sometimes the best way to find what you need to improve on.

Heres a snapshot of a piece I chose to practise in one of those instances....
